MUSICAL IMPROV WEEKEND INTENSIVE with Derek Miller
Learn the fundamentals of Musical Improv with one of the best, Derek Miller of Opening Night, The Improvised Musical, LA’s longest-running Musical and accompanist, Eric Schackne. Over the weekend, you’ll learn how to improvise in a musical ensemble in a supportive and fun environment. You must have taken a beginning improv class to enroll.

About Derek Miller:
Derek Miller has been hustling in the entertainment community for nearly twenty years - starring in five sit-coms, appearing in over eighty commercials and teaching and performing comedy at iO West, the Second City and for major corporations. His improv show "Opening Night: The Improvised Musical!" ran for twenty years delivering over 1000 performances. He served as a consulting writer on three series and acted as writer/performer for NBC’s prime-time sketch show. His pilot, “Mid To Late” starring Eliza Coupe and Ryan Hansen was produced in 2016. Behind the camera, Derek cut his teeth directing casting sessions for thousands of commercials. He became an on-set improv consultant working under A-list directors and then segued into directing branded content. He helmed campaigns for EA Games, Curve, and PS4 as well as Uproxx's first animated series. Derek has taught, directed and coached thousands of actors. From conceptualizing to final delivery, he has had the unique privilege of utilizing improvisation in every part of the creative process.
