Comedy as catharsis at its best….
Good Mourning is a long-form improv show developed and performed at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in Los Angeles. Built around the idea that our shared experience of grief contains more than pain and isolation: there are moments of absurdity, connection and celebration for a life lost.
In this one-night workshop, visiting improviser and creator of the show, Alan Starzinsky, will guide improvisers through the method of mining an audience interview about a lost loved one as the jumping-off point for a show that’s both honest and hilarious.
This format is great for improvisers looking to create shows that feel personal, connected, and emotionally rich, without losing the fun. You’ll come away with tools for stronger audience interviews, clearer premises, and more grounded long-form scenes.
**To take part, you should have a grasp of basic improv skills. If you're ready to learn a format that’s been a hit in L.A. and maybe start running it here, this one-night workshop is for you.
